First 15 mins

Introduction and some background about you

Medical history

Physical assessment - spinal assessment and recreating the pain to get a differential diagnosis

What’s a differential diagnosis? - as osteopaths, we rely on our 5 years of orthopedic training to assess patients with no external equipment like x-rays or blood tests so our diagnoses are most likely not a guarantee - if we believe these are necessary we will refer you

Treatment - 30 mins

How will you treat me?

Tailored treatment per person based on what presenting pain and age. Can include massage, stretching, strengthening, joint mobilization and manipulations. Manipulations are the cracking sound you hear when you click your knuckles. Manipulations are the separation of joints creating a space for bubbles to pop creating the sound and synovial fluid to enter the joint making them feel looser and help with postural patterns.

How often should you get treatment?

Monthly maintenance is a preference for many, my treatment ideology is to give patients the option of minimizing the number of treatment with a high standard of exercise, stretching and lifestyle advice.
